Long Lost Family US follows the highly emotional stories of people who are desperate to be reunited with people they feel an intense closeness to, but whom they've barely - if ever - met. The series is hosted by Chris Jacobs and Lisa Joyner, who have both embarked on their own journeys to discover their biological families. Over the course of the series, we meet sisters desperate to trace their father who suddenly and mysteriously abandoned them when they were just four and five years old; a mother who as a teenager was pressured to relinquish her baby and has never recovered from the trauma; and a woman whose life was turned upside down when she suddenly discovered the man who raised her wasn't actually her biological father. The team must use a variety of tools, from painstaking searches through public records and archives, to cutting edge DNA technology that traces ancestors from generations past, to lead them to the people who are waiting to be found.
