DISCOVERY CHANNEL STRIPS DOWN WHEN NAKED AND AFRAID

RETURNS ON APRIL 19TH

(New York, NY) –There have been many copycats, but nothing ever comes close to the original. Discovery’s hit survival series NAKED AND AFRAID returns with new exotic locations and a brand new group of extreme survivalists on Sunday, April 19th at 10pm ET/PT.

21 days.  In the middle of nowhere.  With no food, no water…and no clothes.  Each week on NAKED AND AFRAID, one man and one woman – both complete and utter strangers – are dropped off in a remote location in one of the world’s most extreme environments.  From Guyana to Thailand, Nicaragua to Belize, the Florida Everglades to Namibia, the survivalists will be stranded all over the world across four continents, making for the harshest challenges to date.  The goal: to survive the full 21 days out in the wild.  The prize:  the pride that comes with surviving those full 21 days.

This season, Discovery Channel follows through with the #ShowUsWhatYouGot contest, which was launched last fall.   Fans of NAKED AND AFRAID were asked to submit videos explaining why they would want to take on the ultimate survival challenge.  Two winners were chosen by a fan vote to take part in their very own NAKED AND AFRAID challenge.  These super fans-turned-survivalists will have their experience in survival training showcased in an exclusive series on Discovery.com, and their special episode of NAKED AND AFRAID will air on Discovery Channel later this season.

NAKED AND AFRAID is produced for Discovery Channel by Renegade 83; David Garfinkle, Jay Renfroe and Steve Rankin are executive producers. For Discovery, Denise Contis and Joseph Boyle are executive producers.
