Shark Week 2013
Begins Sunday, August 4 at 9/8c
From oceans to rivers, salt water to fresh, sharks move silently through the waters around us. From Great White Sharks in Australia to Tiger Sharks in Hawaii, Sleeper Sharks in Alaska, Bull Sharks in Florida, Black Tip Sharks in North Carolina, and Mako Sharks in Mexico, we're closer to sharks than ever before. And if you're not going to where the sharks are this summer, we will bring the sharks to you! Discovery Channel's SHARK WEEK, the longest running prime time series on television, returns in August for its 26th season with the most hours of original programming in Shark Week history. Picking up from last year's campaign, it will be an exciting pop-culture, social and viral event featuring new destinations and new technologies that will showcase shark behavior like it has never been seen before.
This year's SHARK WEEK lineup will introduce viewers to shark attack victims who stared into the jaws of a shark attack and survived, sharks who have moved from coasts to rivers and our own backyards, the trend of sharks moving in closer to shores around the world, and other Shark Week favorites including TEN DEADLIEST SHARKS. It's Shark Week 2013, and it's going to be jawsome!
