(Silver Spring, MD) - ON THE CASE WITH PAULA ZAHN returns this November for its third season on Investigation Discovery, America's leading investigation network and the fastest growing network in ad-supported cable.*  Profiling fascinating true stories and featuring gripping interviews conducted by Emmy Award-winning journalist Paula Zahn, ON THE CASE is a shining example of ID's core brand mission to investigate life's mysteries through riveting storytelling.  In the third season of ON THE CASE, Zahn traveled the country to secure first-time, exclusive interviews including sitting down with Anne Stout, who talked with Zahn from prison after being convicted for killing her husband; Sam Christie, who fingered his own father as a potential serial killer; and Laurie Bembenek and Dominick Gugliatto, whose run from the law became the famed "Run, Bambi, Run" phenomenon.  Zahn executive produces the series with Scott Sternberg, CEO of Scott Sternberg Productions, and Scott Weinberger, CEO of Weinberger Media.  ON THE CASE WITH PAULA ZAHN returns with a 13-episode third season on Sundays at 10 PM ET starting November 7 and has received an early order for a fourth season starting in 1st Quarter 2011.

BEAUTY QUEEN KILLER

Keith Gentry is shot in his living room while his family is upstairs.  Investigators find guns scattered all over the lawn but there is no assailant in sight.  However, the Texas Rangers get a huge break when they set up an on-camera sting that ultimately leads to a conviction of a former beauty queen.

 

GALLAUDET MURDERS

Sunday, Nov 14 at 10 PM ET

Over the span of a few months, Eric Plunkett and Benjamin Varner were both mysteriously murdered in their dorm rooms at Gallaudet University, plunging this prestigious school for the deaf and hard of hearing into a state of terror.  This episode features never-before-seen interrogation footage of the man who eventually confessed to both murders.  Additionally, Zahn interviews the original suspect, who shares his story for the first time after living under suspicion for months before having his name cleared.

MURDER SHE WROTE:  ANNE STOUT CASE

Bill Stout is found shot to death in his bedroom and police suspect the author of a threatening series of emails.  The trail leads them to a jilted lover but computer experts uncover inconsistencies on the source of the threats.  Zahn travels inside a Montana prison as the convicted killer opens up for the first time about the events leading to Stout's death.

A CRY IN THE NIGHT: KAREN GREGORY

A blossoming love is cut short when Karen Gregory is found brutally murdered in her boyfriend's home. The puzzling crime leads investigators to multiple suspects and reveals a tragic tale of senseless violence.  Zahn interviews the man responsible for the murder from a Florida prison, as well as Gregory's boyfriend, who has not spoken about his loss in over twenty years.

RUN BAMBI RUN (wt)

A sultry waitress, Laurie Bembenek, gets fingered for brutally murdering her husband's ex-wife.  After her brazen prison escape turns the convicted killer into a national celebrity, questions about the case against her come to light.  Zahn interviews Dominick Gugliatto, who reveals new details about their life on the run after he helped Bembenek escape.  Zahn also speaks to Bembenek, who since being set free on time served has been crusading to clear her name.  Bembenek shares the results of ballistics and DNA testing that add credibility to her claims of innocence.

Katie Autry Murder

When a beautiful college freshman at Western Kentucky University, Katie Autry, is viciously assaulted in her dorm room, police quickly zero in on a suspect.  However, when he points the finger at someone else, the search for the truth threatens to tear a small town apart.  Zahn interviews both suspects about the web of stories involving Autry's death that resulted in one serving a life sentence while the other walked free but carries the burden of having been tried for murder. 

The Woman Who Refused to Die

Amy Jones asks her husband, Christopher Rezos, for a divorce but he makes a very different plan for how to end their marriage.  After several attempts to kill Jones, police finally get Rezos behind bars.  This case resulted in "Amy's Law," which requires judges to use a risk-assessment checklist before letting a domestic abuser out on bond.  Jones shares her terrifying story with Zahn.

SAM CHRISTIE

A mysterious call from Sam Christie about a decades-old murder baffles police.  But after they dig deeper into his claims, they uncover a potential serial killer and a son's terrible secret about his father.  Christie tells his story for the first time in a riveting and emotional interview with Paula Zahn.

INTERNAL AFFAIRS

After the wife of a local policeman is gunned down in broad daylight, investigators uncover a murderous plot stemming from a torrid affair, and fear one of their own may be involved.  Zahn dives into this convoluted web of truth and lies before sitting down with the women responsible for the murder.
