Los Angeles, CA - The OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network original series "Our America with Lisa Ling" will chronicle veterans who battle post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in a special episode titled "Invisible Wounds of War" premiering Sunday, November 6 (10-11 p.m. ET/PT).

"This episode about veterans with PTSD has been one of the most important stories I have had the privilege to tell," said Lisa Ling. "My hope is that people who watch this show will have a better understanding of the struggles many veterans face when they come home from the frontlines, but that there is hope.  I had an opportunity to see first-hand veterans who found their spirits again."

Ling goes inside the National Veterans Crisis Line in upstate New York where she listens in on responders talking to veterans in their darkest hours.  Then, high in the mountains of New Mexico in a town called Angel Fire, Ling attends an innovative program developed to help veterans and their spouses break free from the emotional distress that has taken over their lives.   During the course of the week-long retreat, service men and women will learn new tools to battle the anxiety, darkness and paranoia they wrestle with every day.  Many of these veterans have tried to cure their PTSD with Western medicine, but during this time at Angel Fire, Ling will witness veterans and their loved ones as they delve deep into themselves through a practice that is age-old to America, but revolutionary for these times.

In connection with this special episode in an effort to recognize America's veterans and military members, Oprah.com has launched today "Our America. Our Veterans. Our Thanks."  OWN is inviting viewers to take a moment and submit personal videos or special messages thanking a veteran or soldier to Oprah.com/ThankAVeteran.  In addition to the robust online gallery of appreciation, Oprah.com will also include veterans resources and information about PTSD, as well as a community space to post personal stories and connect with other viewers.
