TLC Launches New Thursday Night Block

New series HELI-LOGGERS joins the returning STREET CUSTOMS on February 5

Los Angeles, CA - January 9, 2009 - TLC will premiere a new block of programmingon its Thursday night schedule beginning February 5, 2009, it was announced todayby the network. New adventure logging series HELI-LOGGERS and the return of carcustomizing docu-series STREET CUSTOMS promise viewers even more energypacked excitement every week.

“Fan-favorites like AMERICAN CHOPPER and LA INK have made our Thursday blocka destination for fascinating characters in unique environments, and these series area great complement to the night,” explained Nancy Daniels, SVP Production &Development, TLC.

Premiering at 10 PM ET/PT, HELI-LOGGERS transports viewers to the rain forest ofNorthern British Columbia, where a rowdy group of loggers risk their lives toprovide the world with lumber, a resource often taken for granted. Performing oneof the most dangerous jobs, the loggers use an enormous Boeing Chinook helicopter– the only one of its kind in Canada – as they work against the clock, battlingperilous terrain and extreme weather. They do this all while maintaining an ecofriendly,environmentally sustainable mission.

In STREET CUSTOMS, returning with its second season at 9 PM ET/PT, TLCspotlights the talents of car-customizing star Ryan Friedlinghaus and hisunorthodox approach to managing his West Coast Customs family of artisans andtechnicians. Each episode chronicles the boundary-busting cars that the crew takeon – ranging from customizing modern styled street rods to chopping up $100,000luxury vehicles, often for an impressive client list that includes sports icons,Hollywood elite and famous car aficionados. STREET CUSTOMS is produced on siteat West Coast Customs' shop in Corona, CA.
