(New York, NY)- On Friday, April 9 at 10 PM, TLC premieres THE MESSAGE, a one-hour special that will forever change the lives of three families. With the help of private investigator Christopher Bauer, each person is given the chance to send a heartfelt message to someone they are desperate to find.  It's their once in a lifetime opportunity to express gratitude, make amends, or right the wrongs in their past.

As a private detective, mediator, and counselor, Christopher Bauer's mission is to ensure that each special message is delivered and that loved ones are reconciled and entire families are reunited. Bauer's ability to reconnect individuals while guiding them to say those pivotal words such as "thank you" or "forgive me," can often bridge a new path for future relationships. The results are profound, life changing, and often times heart-wrenching.

Throughout the hour, three stories of destiny are unveiled:

Louise, a mother in search of her "love child" Nehemiah, whom she gave up for adoption in 1980 when she was only 19, seeks to reconnect with him and his biological family.  With Bauer's help, Nehemiah is located and a message is delivered from Louise pleading for a meeting.

The Ivey family lost their 14 year-old daughter Erin in a tragic accident and donated her liver to a little girl named Maggie who was on the brink of death. Joi, Maggie's mother, records a message of gratitude to Erin's family in hopes of thanking them for their selfless act and saving her precious Maggie's life. During the emotional reunion with Joi and Maggie, the Iveys find comfort in knowing that not only in life, but also in death, Erin was able to help someone in need.

Debbie was only 16 when she got pregnant and made the decision to put her baby Crystal up for adoption. Now nearly three decades later, Debbie records a message of love and apology and hopes that after a lifetime of longing they will be united.

The Message is produced by Film Garden Entertainment for TLC.
