TLC SUMMER SMOKED THE COMPETITION

TLC Bests the Competition With the Most New and Returning Hit Series In Summer 2010

TLC's summer of premieres, dubbed TLC Summer*, garnered more original new and returning hit** series vs. the competition with 17 averaging 1.1M P2+ or more!  No other ad-supported competitive cable network boasted as many original hits with prime premieres averaging more than 1M P2+: HGTV (13); Food (11); A&E (11); Bravo (9); E! (7); TBS (7); USA (7); TNT (7): Lifetime (4); Oxygen (1); VH1 (1) and WE (0).

TLC Summer was led by Kate Plus 8 averaging a solid 2.9M P2+, followed closely by American Chopper(2.6) and 15 additional strong performing series:  Cake Boss (1.8), Little People Big World (1.7), LA Ink(1.5), Toddlers & Tiaras (1.4), 19 Kids and Counting (1.4), Say Yes to the Dress Atlanta (1.3), Police Women of Memphis (1.3), The Little Couple(1.2), DC Cupcakes (1.2), Say Yes to the Dress (1.2), Strange Sex (1.2), BBQ Pitmasters(1.2), Fabulous Cakes(1.1), Hoarding: Buried Alive (1.1) and Mall Cops: Mall of America (1.1). 

In addition, TLC premiered more new hit series Summer '10 (7) vs. Summer '09 (5), as well as more returning hits (10 vs. 8).
