TLC today announced that it will air "Charlie Sheen: On the Brink," a new hour-long documentary about what has been considered the very public unraveling of actor Charlie Sheen. Blending news footage with all-new original interviews, the special explores Sheen's erratic and unpredictable behavior from the perspective of the media who have covered him, and addiction and behavioral specialists.  The show will track Sheen's story from his childhood through struggles with substance abuse and up to his recent $100 Million lawsuit against his former employers.

Exploring if Sheen's recent actions are a carefully crafted media stunt or the result of years of drug addiction finally taking its toll, "On the Brink" updates the NBC News interview conducted by journalist Jeff Rossen.  With behind-the-scenes footage and brand-new expert commentary, including MacKenzie Phillips discussing life as a celebrity who has dealt with drugs and recovery, the show takes viewers inside Sheen's home and examines the relationships with the women in his life, and his children. The special will also highlight other celebrity meltdowns that have captured public attention and offer insight into what drives this bizarre behavior.

"Charlie Sheen: On the Brink" is produced for TLC by Peacock Productions.
