THE RESTORER GUY MAKES HIS MARK ACROSS AMERICA BREATHING NEW LIFE INTO OLD STRUCTURES
- Brand new series premieres this month on Discovery Travel & Living -

Home restoration expert Gable Painter is the RESTORER GUY with only one thing on his mind: to restore historic homes across America to their former beauty, one house at a time. Gable and his construction crew restructure old buildings while preserving their historical and architectural details. With a less-than-perfect construction team, increasingly ambitious projects, short deadlines and the exacting standards of the customer, it is not always smooth sailing for the RESTORER GUY. With future projects on the line, every impression counts. Can Gable juggle these issues and succeed in pleasing his demanding clients?

RESTORER GUY Gable Painter believes that "everything can be saved". A meticulous and obsessive home restoration expert, he pushes his limits each time to impress his clients. The projects Gable takes on vary in scale and level of difficulty - from redecorating a historic 1840's suite to restoring a kitchen to its 1920's style to completely remodeling historic mansions, no two projects are the same.

The RESTORER GUY and his crew set to work, quite literally giving old homes a new lease on life. But things aren't as easy as the floorplans make them out to be. The colossal task of restructuring an 1895 Victorian Mansion, a large single family home, into nine separate units takes a toll on Gable mentally and emotionally as he has to contend with depleting funding and his crew's unruly behaviour. Gable is approached to complete a restoration project at an 1824 Tudor Revival mansion on historic Monument Avenue - one of the country's grandest and most unaltered boulevards. Success in this project is critical as this could potentially lead to more restoration jobs on Monument Avenue. But Gable has to contend with other challenges - his construction team is unravelling and he is now faced with problems that threaten to chip away at his success.

RESTORER GUY episode descriptions:

Grace Street Mansion
Home restoration expert, Gable Painter, takes on the 1895 Victorian Mansion (Grace Street Mansion). Gable's been hired to restore and restructure this large single family home into nine separate units. Gable and his crew also work on a 1910 Folk Victorian porch.

Grace Street Mansion/36th Front Room
Gable and crew continue work at the Grace Street Mansion and also return to work on the front room of the 1910 Folk Victorian. Gable takes his best friend Pikey dumpster diving and plays a prank on him with the help of Thomas and Quinton.

Grace Street Mansion/Oregon Hill Porch
With work stalling at the Grace Street Mansion, Gable takes on a new project restoring a 1926 Folk Victorian porch in Oregon Hill. The project must be done 100% correctly for the homeowner to receive federal and state tax credits.

Linden Row Inn
Funding has dried up and Gable is forced to leave his dream project. After a tearful goodbye, he sets his focus on re-decorating a suite in the historic 1840's converted Linden Row Inn. Will the crew finish in time when the deadline is moved up 24 hours?

Monument Avenue Kitchen
Gable takes on a kitchen remodel in an 1824 Tudor Revival Mansion on historic Monument Ave, which is one of the country's grandest and most unaltered boulevards. If successful, this could potentially lead to more projects on Monument Ave.

Monument Avenue Bathroom
The homeowner of the 1824 Tudor Revival Mansion on historic Monument Ave calls on Gable to modernize a bathroom. Gable is able to salvage the plumbing fixtures on the one-of-a kind shower, installs a heated floor and brings in a claw foot tub.

Jackson Ward, Upstairs
Gable is called in to restore a single family semi-detached 1880's Victorian home that has suffered extensive water damage throughout the entire house.

Jackson Ward, Downstairs
Looking to finish up their work at Jackson Ward, Gable and the crew work on restoring every historic element of the home: door hardware, rimlocks, and transoms. After sanding and staining the hardwood floors, Gable shows off their hard work to the owner.

Elder Homes
Gable decides its time for his entire crew to give back to the community, so he takes on a different kind of project: working on the 1910 Folk Victorian home of a lower income 75-year-old retiree.

Marshall Street Exterior
Gable takes on the oldest project to date: a 1870s Richardsonian Italianate Row House with very rare double scoop German shiplap siding. It's falling apart, but Gable will stay true to form and have the replacement siding re-milled at a local mill shop.

Marshall Street Kitchen
Gable has been asked back to the 1870's Richardsonian Italianate Row House by the homeower to restore the kitchen. Although the kitchen was not original to the home, Gable plans on restoring it to its original 1920's style.

Green Restoration Interior
Gable believes that being green and restoration can go hand in hand. For his next project, he learns the intricate challenges of 'greening' while simultaneously restoring a home's interior.
