Flying wild Alaska 3

Image 1 / 10

Join the unconventional Tweto family as they continue to transport life's necessities to one of the most remote and extreme regions of America in the brand new third series of ‘Flying Wild Alaska'. With no motorway system for hundreds of miles, the Tweto's family-run airline, Era Alaska, is a lifeline for the isolated rural inhabitants of the Bering Sea coastline. This series, Jim Tweto, his wife Ferno and their daughters Ariel and Ayla face some of their toughest challenges yet when the harshest Alaskan winter in decades shatters snowfall and average temperature records. With the snowed-in residents of the surrounding villages relying on them for food, fuel and medical supplies, their pilots must attempt ever more daring flights in order to reach the remotest regions. From attempting perilous landings on makeshift runways carved into the frozen Bering Sea, to navigating through powerful solar flares that cut off all means of communication with Alaska's air traffic control, to dealing with mid-flight crises and mechanical difficulties caused by sub-zero temperatures, the courageous pilots must rely on their wits and their skill to reach their destinations safely.
