Vice President, On-Air Creative & Branded Entertainment
Michael Eisenbaum was elevated to Animal Planet's vice president of on-air creative and branded entertainment in April 2013 and is responsible for overseeing the creation of on-air promotion, development and graphics, as well as Ad Sales sponsored co-branding spots for on-air. In addition, he continues to work in tandem with vice president of creative, Jamie Dugger, producing Animal Planet's Upfront and Television Critics Association presentations.
Prior to his promotion, Eisenbaum served as the senior creative director of marketing and played a critical role in the network's 2008 rebrand, working to help create and define the brand meaning before its release. He also was a key member of the network's "Surprisingly Human" brand positioning in March 2010.
In addition, Eisenbaum has led the creative team for many of the network's on-air and off-air campaigns, including RIVER MONSTERS, FINDING BIGFOOT, PIT BULLS & PAROLEES, TREEHOUSE MASTERS, TANKED and WHALE WARS, the highest-performing series in network history.
Eisenbaum joined Discovery Communications in 2003 as a producer for Discovery Kids, where he was the lead writer/producer for all on air priorities, Ad Sales initiatives and where he conceived several sponsorable interstitials. In addition, he helped create and brand "@DK" for Discovery Kids, a primetime block of programming targeted to tweens. In 2007, he became on air supervising producer for Animal Planet and Discovery Kids.
Before joining Discovery Networks, Eisenbaum wrote and produced for Syfy where he oversaw several Syfy top program promotions and edited the channel's Inside Space series. Prior to that, he was a segment producer on the CBS' Howard Stern Radio Show, and also wrote, produced and directed Gilbert Gottfried, for USA's movie wrap around series: USA's Up All Night
Eisenbaum is a graduate of Florida Atlantic University with a BA in Communications. He currently resides in Upstate New York.
