UNIVERSE

Animal Planet's entertaining blend of animal-centric programming helped it become one of the fastest-growing new cable television networks ever. It now reaches more than 94 million households (Nielsen Universe Estimate, July 2013).

RESEARCH  

Animal Planet ended the 2014 ranked in the top 20 among all ad-supported cable networks based on M25-54 delivery.  This marks the third consecutive year that Animal Planet achieved this feat.

2014 ratings highlights for the network included PUPPY BOWL X, which became the most-watched PUPPY BOWL ever with 13.5 million viewers, and RIVER MONSTERS, which returned in April with its most-watched season premiere ever, reeling in 1.7M P2+ viewers.

Additionally, In 2014, five Animal Planet series delivered at least 1M P2+ viewers, including RIVER MONSTERS, TREEHOUSE MASTERS, FINDING BIGFOOT, PIT BULLS & PAROLEES, WILD WEST ALASKA, BLOOD LAKE: ATTACK OF THE KILLER LAMPREYS and PUPPY BOWL X.

COMMERCE

Building on the success of the network, Animal Planet consumer products continue to grow having received the U.S. Corporate Brand of the Year Award from the International Licensing Industry Merchandisers' Association (LIMA) in 2011. Animal Planet merchandise reaches consumers through its unique products including kids' toys, pet products and lifestyle goods. Highlighted by a rapidly growing toy line via a 14-year partnership with Toys "R" Us® and an extensive line of pet essentials, the network's values are translated into product offerings at retailers nationwide. Additionally, the e-commerce shopping destination, AnimalPlanetStore.com provides fans with merchandise inspired by their favorite on-air series. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of branded merchandise goes to the principle partners of R.O.A.R. (Reach Out. Act. Respond.), dedicated to improving the lives of animals in our communities and in the wild. 

R.O.A.R. (Reach Out. Act. Respond)

Animal Planet has partnered with leading animal organizations through R.O.A.R (Reach Out. Act. Respond.) to inspire viewers to take action and be a voice for animals. The campaign aligns Animal Planet with a powerful roster of leading animal and environmental organizations.

During 2014's R.O.A.R annual matching campaign to raise funds for seven participating R.O.A.R. partners, the partners combined for more than 760 unique donors and raised more than $270,000 thanks to the generous donations from Discovery Consumer Products. In total, since the launch of the annual matching campaign, R.O.A.R. has surpassed $1.25-million in total donations, including matching funds, consumer donations and proceeds from the sale of Animal Planet consumer products.
