Group Executive Vice President, Discovery Channel, Animal Planet and Science Channel

Paul Pastor is EVP Network Strategy, Revenue and Operations for the Discovery Channel, Animal Planet and Science Channel, overseeing the network’s overarching business strategy, driving operational efficiencies and serving as a key network partner and liaison for ad sales, finance, distribution, digital and Discovery Networks International.

Paul previously served as SVP Strategy and Consumer Analytics for the Disney/ABC Television Group at Disney.  There he oversaw the division’s strategy team, consumer data and analytics team, media-planning team and all research activities related to the ABC Television Network, ABC Studios, ABC Family and Disney/ABC Domestic Television.  At Disney, Paul played a key role in managing the company’s strategic investment in Hulu and the development of digital products including Watch Disney. Additionally, he was a significant contributor to Disney Channels’ international expansion efforts, including the company’s free-to-air investments in Russia and Spain.

Paul joined The Walt Disney Co. in January 2007 as director, business development for Disney Channels Worldwide. He was promoted to VP, media networks strategy in January 2009 and promoted to VP of strategy, CRM and media planning in September 2012.  Paul was promoted his previous role of SVP Strategy and Consumer Analytics in Aug 2013.

Early in his career, Paul held positions at Accenture, a management consulting firm, and at Technicolor, where he was focused on the expansion of the firm’s gaming and animation services businesses into global markets.

Paul holds a B.A. degree in economics from the University of Virginia and a MBA from the University of California, Los Angeles’ Anderson School of Business.
