(Silver Spring, MD) - There are thousands of dog parks throughout the country -- each with its own appeal and unique cast of characters who frequent the park on a regular basis. And New York's Washington Square dog park is no exception! Colorful personalities from diverse, exclusive social circles are sewn together by a common thread to become part of the fabric of those who go "gaga" for dogs.

Premiering October 12th at 12 PM EST, DOG PARK is a six-part web series exclusively on AnimalPlanet.com. The story begins with five decidedly different dog lovers meeting for the first time at the Washington Square dog park with the goal of improving the park. This civic-minded group embarks on the seemingly simple task of raising the funds to turn innovative ideas into reality. However, as the project progresses, nothing goes as planned, leaving the entire project in jeopardy.

Meet the characters and their dogs:

  • Nathan is a quiet, easygoing musician and dog walker who visits the dog park frequently. He's single andlooking for the right girl...does Katie, a fellow dog-park regular, fit the bill?
  • Katie is an aspiring opera singer who's hunting for an apartment and a man in Manhattan. Perhaps half the hunt is over when she meets Nathan?
  • Chris is a student of entertainment law and has a knack for making everyone laugh. At the dog park, his Chihuahua, Buster Douglas, and dachshund, Chili Jayne, help him keep an eye out for a special friend.
  • Seiko is an entrepreneur with a rough past. He credits his Pomeranian, Gizmo, for turning his life around and has his own dog-walking business.
  • Lucia is a busy professional who juggles work, home life, friends and being a mom to Georgia, a French bulldog/beagle mix.

This season, follow the group's trials and tribulations, alliances and betrayals, romances, and failures and successes as this unlikely dream team works toward a common goal: improving the local dog park for the better.
