Animal Planet Marketing, Operations and Research Chiefs Expand Roles to Include Science Channel While Network Promotes Heads of Marketing Strategy and On-Air Creative

(May 11, 2011, New York, New York) - Marjorie Kaplan, president of Animal Planet and Science Networks, announced today new roles and responsibilities for some of her key marketing, strategic, creative and research Animal Planet executives, some of whom will be overseeing Science Channel, which Kaplan recently added to her portfolio. 

  • Victoria Lowell assumes a newly expanded role as senior vice president of marketing and operations for Animal Planet and Science Channel, adding Science Channel to her oversight. She provides creative brand leadership and strategy for both Animal Planet and Science Channel, working closely to build the brand and lead the on-air and off-air network marketing teams as well as partnering with Kaplan on business strategy and operations for both networks. She is based in the Silver Spring, Maryland office. Lowell will report to Kaplan and will work closely with Science Channel general manager Deborah Myers. Dan Bragg, vice president of marketing for Science Channel, will report to Lowell.

 

  • Lauren Goodson has been promoted to vice president of research for Animal Planet and Science Channel, and was formerly senior director of research for Animal Planet. She is responsible for overseeing all network research efforts that help guide decision-making and strategies for programming, development, marketing and communications. Her role also requires her to design and implement research studies to identify insights about the brand, viewing audience and potential opportunities for growth. Based in the Silver Spring office, Goodson will report to Kaplan and will work closely with Science Channel general manager Deborah Myers.

 

  • Noha Abdalla has been promoted to vice president of marketing for Animal Planet, where she was previously senior director. She develops and oversees integrated marketing campaigns for the network, and provides creative brand leadership and strategy. In her new role, Abdalla will continue to lead the network strategy for on-air and off-air marketing and be a partner in growing the business. Abdalla is based in the Silver Spring office and reports to Lowell.

 

  • Michael Eisenbaum has been promoted to senior creative director of marketing for Animal Planet, where he was previously director. He leads the creative team and oversees the consumer look of on-air promo creative and marketing shoots. He also oversees and directs the creative of all advertising sales on-air work to ensure it aligns with the Animal Planet brand. Eisenbaum is based in the New York office and reports to Lowell.
