Proving that good things come in small packages, Planet Green announced today that it will debut a full season of short-form programming on PlanetGreen.com, beginning with the October 26 premiere of  100 Places to Remember Before They Disappear.   An eye-opening series of 100 one-minute episodes featuring stunning imagery and amazing facts about some of the most beautiful and fragile places on earth,  100 Places to Remember Before They Disappear headlines an initial slate of six original short-form series that will first premiere online with subsequent airings on Planet Green's 24-hour television channel.

100 Places to Remember Before They Disappear   explores destinations identified in a landmark research study from the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel for Climate Change.  The project focuses on sites around the globe either in danger of disappearing or places where the living conditions for people, flora, and fauna will be drastically changed within the next few generations due to climate change and other human impacts.  Every episode includes online interactive features that help viewers delve deeper into each unique location.

From places in peril to an animated New Yorker full of "eco angst", each series in PlanetGreen.com's fall/winter lineup is designed to spark the viewer's imagination through fascinating subjects and eclectic characters.  PlanetGreen.com short-form series coming to computer screens this fall and winter include:

ORGANIC A to Z (26x 2 to 5 minutes)
Coming in October 2009
Move over Julia!  High-energy chef Gregory Schaefer is cooking his way through the delicious world of organic food, using the alphabet as his roadmap. Gregory highlights a different key ingredient in each episode, with accompanying recipes to make it easy to cook up wholesome meals with flair. Organic A to Z's unique format includes a companion blog entry with detailed information -- and a healthy dose of Gregory's color commentary -- about each featured food.   View the episode, read the blog and get your butt in the kitchen!

BEA WILDERED (6x:90 seconds) - Animated Series
Coming in November 2009
The "eco space" might as well be outer space to Bea Wildered, a thirty-something female who doesn't know a hole in the ozone from a hole in the ground.  Living in a New York City condo where dark green is the new black makes this light green gal feel even more out of place.  With the help of her environmentally aware older sister and a young nephew, Bea won't be bewildered for long.  As Bea learns, she teaches her neighbors "Dirk the Jerk" and "Frumpy Frances" a thing or two about sustainable living while slowly overcoming her own less-than-green attitude about this whole eco-awareness movement. Bea Wildered is produced for Planet Green by Fun Little Movies.

MY PLACE (10x:90 seconds) - Animated Series
Coming in November 2009
My Place follows the daily struggle of a witty, charming woman trying to be more eco- conscious in a world that doesn't always make it easy to do the right thing. From paper vs. reusable bags, to the loaded minefield of a takeout meal, everyday decisions send her into an imaginative frenzy of dire consequences and agonizing with hilarious results.  My Place teaches us that every choice we make is an opportunity to change and move toward a brighter future for the planet. My Place is produced for Planet Green by Ann Marie Fleming.

FAST FORWARD (13x:90 seconds)
Coming in January 2010
Whether it is a community advocate searching for a way to make recycling accessible to all, an entrepreneur designing the next sustainable shoe or a celebrity with a long-held commitment to preserve and protect a piece of our world, Fast Forward profiles a broad range of passionate individuals doing their part to make a difference.  In the course of each 90-second interview we learn about the adversities, triumphs and driving forces behind each of these visionaries in their own words.  Fast Forward shows how everyone can be a catalyst for positive change.  Fast Forward is produced for Planet Green by Kontentreal.

CITY SHORTS (wt) (13x:90 seconds)
Coming in February 2010
In Egypt, the most densely populated country in Africa, the green space allocated to each citizen is smaller than the size of a shoe. The Cairo government plans to convert a medieval dump into a 74-acre oasis for citizens in an effort to alleviate this situation, making it a refuge from everyday city life.  Explore how the world's largest urban centers are revolutionizing the lives of whole populations through cutting-edge technologies, transportation expansion, infrastructure reparation and more in City Shorts.
City Shorts is produced for Planet Green by Kontentreal.
