(Silver Spring, Md.) - The entire nation was captivated by the tragic death of two-year old Caylee Anthony and the ensuing murder trial of her mother Casey. Now, for the first time, viewers hear from renowned Chief Medical Examiner, Jan C. Garavaglia, M.D. (aka "Dr. G"), who performed the delicate autopsy and declared Caylee's death a homicide. In a new one-hour special from TLC, DR. G: INSIDE THE CAYLEE ANTHONY CASE, viewers gain insight as Dr. G and her team of experts - along with other key players - explain the complicated forensics of the case, the trial, and controversial verdict. DR. G: INSIDE THE CAYLEE ANTHONY CASE premieres Sunday, January 1 at 8PM ET/PT on TLC, with an encore special presentation on Discovery Fit & Health Friday, January 6 at 10PM ET/PT.

"For the past eight years, viewers have come to know Dr. G and her work on the popular Discovery Fit & Health series, DR. G: MEDICAL EXAMINER," said Amy Winter, general manager, TLC. "Dr. G was intimately involved in the Caylee Anthony case from the very beginning, and knows the scientific evidence inside and out. This special provides a forum for Dr. G and her team of experts to present this information in its entirety for the first time."

Premiering the Friday night before the TLC special (Friday, December 30 at 10PM ET), Discovery Fit & Health presents an all-new season of DR. G: MEDICAL EXAMINER. From her morgue at the District Nine (Orange-Osceola) Medical Examiner's Office in Florida, Dr. G uses cutting-edge forensic science and technology to solve the mysteries of life and death. The new season features six one-hour episodes in which Dr. G races against the clock to uncover the truth behind often shocking circumstances surrounding the death of the victims that end up in her morgue. In the premiere episode, a 44-year-old woman is found dead in her home with severe burns, and police want to question the fiancé, but he's nowhere to be found. Dr. G must work quickly to bring justice to her tragic death. In another story, a 35-year-old bipolar man is found dead on the floor of his apartment. His family fears he took his own life, and turn to Dr. G for closure. During the autopsy, Dr. G makes a shocking discovery that threatens to turn the whole case upside down.
