GIVE A DOG A HOME LIVE!

ANIMAL PLANET PREMIERES CABLE TELEVISION’S FIRST EVER LIVE WEEKLY ANIMAL ADOPTION SERIES “GIVE A DOG A HOME LIVE!” BEGINNING SEPT 10

-All-new Live Series with Best Friends Animal Shelter Hosted by Puppy Bowl’s Dan Schachner-

Animal Planet, home to television’s longest running animal adoption event, Puppy Bowl, premieres cable television’s first ever live weekly animal adoption series, GIVE A DOG A HOME LIVE!, on Tuesday, Sept. 10 at 12PM ET/PT,  featuring Best Friends of America (BFAS), hosted by Puppy Bowl referee and adoption advocate Dan Schachner. The series will originate from the Animal Planet studios every Tuesday and Thursday where audiences will be taken on live adventures to centers and shelters around the U.S. to meet dogs, cats and other animals available for adoption, and those dedicated to their adoptions and care.

GIVE A DOG A HOME LIVE! is dedicated to sharing the stories of animals available for adoption live from BFAS adoption Centers in New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta and Salt Lake City, and animal shelters across the country. The series will also include tips on numerous topics, including how to care for your new friend once you bring them home, in addition to surprise in-studio experts and fuzzy faced guests who will join Schachner live each week.

During each episode, fans are encouraged to talk about the available animals on Twitter, by using the hashtag #GiveADogAHome. And some tweets may appear onscreen during the live show! Animal Planet audiences can also go to the GIVE A DOG A HOME LIVE! page on AnimalPlanet.com to find out more about the series and Best Friends Animal Society.

GIVE A DOG A HOME LIVE! is produced for Animal Planet by Discovery Creative & Production. French Horwitz is executive producer and show runner and Matt Katzive is executive in charge of production.  For Animal Planet, Erin Wanner is Executive Producer with Pat Dempsey as supervising producer.
